How to Download Games on a PSP for Free

1.Check to see if you have the right firmware. Firmware is the proprietary operating system the PSP requires for functioning. You need Firmware 1.0 or 1.5 to download free games on a PSP. These versions allow you to play PSP homebrews (later versions have protections that avoid use of non-commercial PSP games).
To check your PSP's firmware, press the PSP's "home" button. Scroll down and select "Settings." From there, select "System Information." The firmware information can be found in the section where it says "System Software." If this section has the number 1.0 or 1.50, you'll be able to play PSP homebrews. If the number is higher, you won't be able to download free games on a PS

2.Format a PSP memory stick. (The size of the memory stick doesn't matter since most PSP homebrews are relatively small.) Insert the memory stick into the slot located on the left side of the PSP, where the directional buttons are. Pop open the cover and slide the memory stick in, making sure it's face up and follows the direction of the white arrow.
Press the "Home" button and go into the "Settings" section. Scroll down and select "Systems Settings." In the next screen, continue scrolling down until you can select "Format Memory Stick." The PSP will ask you if you want to format the memory stick. Answer "Yes," and the PSP will format the memory stick within just a few seconds.

3.Download free PSP games onto your computer. Sites like PSP Brew, UR PSP and PSP-Homebrew.eu contain tons of free PSP games. And the downloading process is pretty much the same. You either select an option to download, or you right-click on the file and use "Save As" for downloading.

4.Unzip the files. Usually, when you download free PSP games, you receive files in a compressed (or zipped), format. This allows a developer to send larger files without the hassle of breaking them up into pieces. However, before you can use these games, you will have to unzip them so you can have access to the individual files.
To unzip files, you need to use an unzipping utility. Windows comes with one, and it's relatively easy to use since you just select options from a Wizard. But if you prefer something more sophisticated, consider using WinZip, (for the PC), or Stuffit, (for Macs). Both of these programs can be downloaded free, though the legal version of WinZip only offers a 30-day trial. Either way, unzipping is as simple as selecting "Extract" and entering in the name of the file you want your games in.

5.Connect your PSP to the computer via a USB cable. Make sure you place the smaller end of the USB cable into your PSP. Place the larger end into any of the USB ports available on your computer.

6.Switch to USB mode. The PSP cannot communicate with your computer unless it is in USB mode. This is accomplished by pressing the "Home" button, scrolling towards "Settings" and then finally selecting "USB Connection."

7.Transfer the games onto your PSP. This step is the heart of downloading free games onto your PSP, and, it is simple. With your PSP connected to your computer, take whatever games you plan on downloading and place them into the PSP > GAME folder. If this folder doesn't appear automatically, you can create one by 'right-clicking' in the PSP directory and then entering in the name "Game."

8.Run the games you downloaded. After you have installed the desired games onto your PSP, disconnect the device from your computer. In the main menu, scroll to the "Game" section. Select the "Memory Stick" option. The PSP homebrews you downloaded will be contained here. Highlight one of them and press "X." Assuming the homebrew is coded properly and you have the right firmware, it should run just like a commercial PSP game.

How i add games please tell me

Hello,
You can download games that compatible with Samsung SGH-G800 to your pc and then transfer the game files to your phone using the usb data cable.Follow the instructions to do so,

1) First thing you need to do is to find the games from internet and download them to your pc,you can type "download samsung SGH 800 games" in google to find games that's compatible with your phone model (only those games compatible with your phone model would work)

2) To get you started, here are few sites where you can download games for your phone model
http://www.mobilerated.com/samsung-sgh-g800-games.html to download games from this website, click on the game you want to download, then on the next page select 'Download' on the right hand side of the page and the links to download will appear under the title 'Installation files for
samsung SGH-800' click on the files called JAD and JAR one by one to download the files.Download both the files and put it in a folder in your PC where you can easily find them, like desktop.

3)Now all that is left to do is to transfer the downloaded files to your phone and you can then install
the games to the phone and start playing.

The quickest way to do this is to put your phone into Mass Storage Mode then connect it via the USB cable to your computer. To set your phone to Mass Storage Mode, do the following:

- Go to the main menu
- Select Settings
- Then Select Phone Settings
- Choose PC Connections from the menu
- And then click on Mass Storage.

3) Now connect the phone to your pc.Now
your phone will show up as a USB Storage device and you can just copy and past files to it like you would a USB Thumb drive.

4) Now you need to copy the downloaded jar and jad files from your computer and paste them on the folder named "other" from the new mass storage device (that is the phone) found on your 'My Computers' folder.

5) After copying the files, you can now disconnect your usb cable and now using your phone, browse to the 'other' folder and you should find the name of the game file you just copied form your pc.Open it using the ok or similar key on your phone and it will prompt you to install the game, follow the onscreen instruction to complete the installation.

6) Now you should find the installed game on your games folder in your phone.Feel free to ask any
clarification or doubts regarding this.

Hope it helped. Thanks for using Fixya!

How do you download games onto your LG ku990 viewty???

Download a suitable(touchscreen) Java game to your computer.
Connect the KU990 to your computer with the data cable and set the phone to appear as a external mass storage device( drive E on mine).
Transfer your game to the storage device your phone appears as,it will end up in your phones documents folder.
Open it and follow the prompts to launch it(you should also transfer it to your games section).
