Dish washer is seldom used , maybe twice a year. Notice during a drain cycle that the pump makes a squaling noise.This happens only after the load of the water has pass through the pump. The dishwasher is a boush,is there impeller style pump? Maybe dry rot ?

The pump impeller is probably plastic -- if so, dry rot is out.
Most likely the pump shaft is just dry from lack of use. More use will probably wet it enough to stop the squeal.
