Sorry but this fix doesn't work! I still only get the initial alert tone when text received. No follow up alerts!

Is it possible to change the time delay between alerts in which case it might be preset for 24 hrs for all I know?

    Thanks for trying anuway !!

Ok, can you explain how I set time delay. I can't find anything in settings that refers to time delay.

Likewise with changing text tone to ring tone ??

    Help please.

Hi Snuggles75. Despite trying all you suggest I can't make the mobile do repeat alert tones. Maybe the mobile software doesn't give this facility ? Can anyone who has a Nokia 2680 give me some help please?
    Thanks in advance. Chris

Hello jinniq51,

i have some tips on how to do it hope it helps :D

Settings
In this menu, you can adjust various phone
settings. To reset some menu settings to their
default values, select Restore factory set.
Tone settings
Select Menu > Settings > Tone settings and from the available
options:
Ringing tone-To set the tone for incoming calls
Ringing volume-To set the volume level for the ringing and

Can i make any of my ringtones be the tone for incoming texts and also, can i use animated wallpapers that actually move?

you can download animated themes at www.mobile9.com and www.zedge.net for your e71 phone. as for the ringtones, yes, you can use these tones to be the the incoming tones of your text messages. go to setings, profiles, general, choose personalise, message alert tone and choose your favorite aac or mp3 tone to be your message alert tone.

User profiles
This is used to set up the different ways of incoming call prompts in various situations. Use
the up/down key to choose this option and click the left functional key to enter. There are
many modes of setting available and the default setting is the general mode.
To switch to a new user profile, use the direction key to select the target mode and click
“OK” to enter. Then select “activate” and click “OK” to confirm. Your phone will give an
“activated” prompt, indicating that the user profile is active. The “headset” mode does not
require activation; your phone will automatically switch to the “headset” mode if a headset
is connected to your phone, and back to the previous mode when unplugged.
You can also customize each user profile setting for your preference, the following
operations are available:
(1) Ring tone settings:
Incoming calls: Enter “user profile”, select “personal setting”, and set up the ring tone.
Power on: set up the music for power on.
Power off: set up the music for power off.
Message: set up the message ring tone when a new message arrives.
You can also download ring tones online.
(2) Volume
This allows you to set up the volume for ring tones and keypad tones. There are 7 grades
available. Enter this function and use the up/down key for testing and adjusting.
(3) Alert type
This is used to set up the alert type for incoming calls. Please select the suitable alert
types in different situations.

I have a ring tone stored in my files how can i move it to use it for incoming tex alert

you may try to do these steps.  1.  press menu 2.  select settings 3.  select phone profiles 4.  press and select the >> (double arrow) normal profile or what ever profile you have chosen. 5.  beside the normal mode you will see there a drop down list, a box with down solid arrow  6.  press that box and it will give you the least of options 7.  select new messages 8.  under new messages settings you will have a list of options,  9.  select and press message alert tone and browse for the files stored in your memory card. 10. press save and exit the setup.  >> you don't need to copy or move the files you want as text alert tone for it will move automatically once you assigned it as message tone.  >>to check if your files has been moved, from your menu, press my files, filter your files through drop down list, select phone memory, it will give you the list of files there.
regards.

Nokia 5800 beeps repeatedly on calls

It is something with the key lock of your phone. If you don't want to phone to give a beep for you then change the settings from your profile and find there the settings for warning tones and keypad tones.
