80gb black ipod video

I plugged it into the computer. The computer said "new device found". Then the computer said that it needed to restart. (the ipod of course with "DO NOT DISCONNECT" on it) I thought the computer froze while it was rebooting so I unplugged the ipod. That was only 4 days ago. Now everytime I plug the ipod into the computer, absolutely nothing happens. The computer does not recognize it and the ipod does not show it is charging or say " do not disconnect". I want to change the library on my ipod, but I can't if it won't connect to a computer. It cannot charge either. What can I do?

I dropped my ipod classic 80 gb. It can't be detected when i sync to my computer. I did a hard restart but it it says that my files will be deleted when i restore it with itunes. I dont wanna lose my files...

The only way to save the files is by connecting it to pc and storing them in a file. Try checking the usb connection inside the ipod. If there are any broken wires or solder joints, re-solder them or anything you can do to get it to connect.

Try connecting it, go to control panel, the ipod should be able to found on the I: drive.

I have an ipod 80GB with video out to the TV My 60GB willplay my pictures as a slide show on the TV, but the 80GB will not. Any Suggestions

You probably need different cables for the different ipod. Go to and click on the support tab; after it loads put the article HT1453 into the search. It will pull up the apple article on this exact kind of issue. It has pictures to show the different kinds of cables needed for the TV OUT feature on ipods. I found it very helpful, hope you do as well. Cheers :)

80GB video ipod is not turning on.instead the apple symbol blinks

Connect the ipod to your computer and let it sit for about fifteen minutes. Then it should show up in your computer and under itunes. Usually, if your ipod dies completely, when you try to charge it using a wall or car charger, it will do that, just flashing the apple logo and going back off. Leaving it plugged up to the computer will allow the battery to charge just enough so that it can sync with itunes. While it is plugged into the computer and charging, it should say something like, battery very low, charging. It should work after letting it sit plugged up to the computer.

Apple 80gb ipod freezing/computer wont recodnise ipod

Try it on another computer and if it happens its the ipod. Or try restalling itunes with the lates version (7.7.1)
If that doesnt work try using a different program for your ipod eg Jriver media center

Ipod wont show up on itunes

In order to get an Ipod to work on your computer never plug it into a USB hub. The hub does something to the power of the device that causes it to not perform, be recognized, or charge. Find a spare USB port to plug it in and see if it will find it.

USB hubs do not work on external hard drive devices. Jump drives will work on a hub
