Question about Magellan RoadMate 700 GPS Receiver

1 Answer

How to delete previous destinations and unneccesary addresses?

On my magellan 700 when you press the zoom out, zoom in and the repeat key at the same time you get a menu called "Final Assembly Test Entry" and none of the options is to reset the user data.
I have the latest 4.32 version software installed. I wonder if the oldest version had the option but it was removed by Magellan on this latest version?
Thanks in advance for any help you might provide me with!!

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Called Magellan tech support, According to them you can't delete previous addresses, the unit will just override old destinations as you put in new ones.

Once your in the "hidden" menu, select reset user data.. your unit will reset and everything will be clean. If your trying to delete specific addresses I would use software to sync up and explore your MRM's files.

Reset

Yes, you can reset.

Access the secret " " menu and reset user data, you'd be amazed at how much that can fix. At user menu (after reset) press "-" and repeat key at the same time. select "reset user data". Also, if your having GPS problems, you can also select reset GPS data.

Post again if this doesn't work for you.

My GPS cannot locate my own position

Try GPS data reset. At user screen push the zoom out key and repeat button at the same time. Select Reset GPS data. This will reset the GPS settings. If after this you are still not getting any signal then you may have a loose RF cable inside your unit. If you feel comfortable opening up your unit and making sure the grey or black cable going from the big (main board) board to the board attached to the rear housing, then do that. Of course this is at your own risk. If you still get nothing after that, it may have something to do with your antenna, which you'll need to take off prior to opening your unit. Turn the antenna all the way out (past perpindicular to the unit) and pull straight out. make sure the connector isn't bent. Keep me updated if anything changes. _Daniel

Does not clear prior destination

This seems to be just a software problem, re-installing the software should fix it. Before that though, try resetting user data. At user menu, press "-" zoom out and repeat button at same time. select reset user data, it will reboot automatically, then check to see if it is any better. If not, hopefully the software came with your unit and you can re-install it. Good luck and let me know if you need help with the installation. thanks, Daniel
