Re: Philips DVP3144 Region Change

The fix on the DVP3120 was as follows. I don't know if this works on 3144 - would like to know.

1. Turn on the unit
2. Open the loading tray
3. Press the "Setup" button on the remote
4. Navigate to the "Preferences" page using the right arrow key
5. Enter 138931
6. You will now see the current region code displayed
7. Use the Up/Down arrow keys to select the region required or "0" for all regions
8. Press the "Play" button on the remote

Re: Philips DVP3144 Region Change

Solution 3 fixed it! The code for 3144 does not work. There is no preference tab and believe me I have tried all the tabs to try to see if it defaulted. Cheers, Jane

Re: Philips DVP3144 Region Change

1. Turn the unit on and open the tray. Take out any disc from the tray.
2. Enter the code 98790 on the remote and press Ok. The 0 on the end is the region. Eg to change it back to a region follow step 1 and enter the code 98794. 4 being the region code in this example.
3. To check the region code follow step 1 and enter the code 966.

Cannot play other regions discs-only Zone 6

Most DVD are protected by RC (region code) protocol.
You can change your DVD to region-free by some software.

For windows user, DVD decrypter is the best choice.
Powerful function on remove DVD protection and burn dvd.

If you have an access to Macintosh, this smart Mac DVD Copy software would be better.

Panasonic dmr-eh57 multi-region unlock code

I sent an e-mail to Panasonic New Zealand to ask about this, and they advised:
"Panasonic NZ no longer pre set DVD recorders or players for all region multi-zones.
However, we will multi-zone for all regions on request. This needs to be done by an Authorised Service Centre, as a special service remote is used. Once delivered to one of these agents, the service company will charge the fee to Panasonic NZ."

If you're not in NZ, try contacting Panasonic in your own country. Just call up with your country code after eg. US = .com and NZ = It seems a *lot* easier than all those complicated hacks on the net. Now all I have to do is work out how to disconnect my DVD recorder again, and try to

PS. I realise this question is 11 months old by now, but I hope my response helps someone like me just cruising the internet looking for help.
