Toggle lever will not stay on "rick cooking" option

Dear FixYa -

The toggle lever on my Tiger JNP-0550 3-Cup Rice Cooker will no longer stay on "rice cooking", and automatically springs to "keep warm" all the time.

How might I fix this problem so that I can cook rice again?

Well your rice cooker needs to be replaced.. if you still want to use it, then have it fixed by a technician coz it needs electrical expertise to handle the wirings inside it..

My rice cooker tiger jnp-1803 don't have power. how do i troubleshoot?

Most of the time small appliances have fusible thermistors in them. If you feel comfortable taking the unit apart. Make sure the power is off. there should be a fuse link in line with the power cord probably covered with insulation. If you have a ohm meter then check to see if this is open. These are fairly inexpensive most are silver in color and one end is pointed shape.

I cant clean the inside top of my rice cooker can you help please? I ahve tried leaving boiled water to steam if off and it wont come off

If you mean the part of the lid that wobbles, well this pulls off to clean. Make a note of which way the centre rubber part sits as putting it on back to front will cause problems.

The white rice turns brown and it smells after only 2 or 3 days.

Nothing. Cooked rice should be immediately refrigerated if not used and used within a couple of days, to do otherwise can be fatal.

Your cooked rice is discolouring due to either bacterial or fungal growth, either due to remaining spores in the cooker between each load, or just due to environmental effects. So far, you've been extremely lucky not to suffer very severe food poisoning.

Cooking with fallen rice stuck in heatingpan

No. This can cause a fire. Place the cooker in the freezer to freeze the rice in the bottom. The frozen rice will expand and it will be easier to clean up and breakoff the old rice. Once clean you can cook more rice.
