Problem for Fujitsu LifeBook T4220 Tablet PC

When I press the buttons on the bottom of the screen nothing happens.

I want to use the 4220 Tablet PC for teaching in the Tablet mode, not open or hinged, , and advance the Powerpoint pages, but the function buttons do not work.

However, the pen digitiser does work.

Am I missing some software to allow me to use the buttons on the LHS bottom of the screen, or am I doing something wrong?
Can you suggest what I can do. thanks.
