Re: Red power light, but no display or lighs

A lot of "aged" problems relate to the power supply with this type of unit. If you are a handy chap and know what capacitors are you will find that finding and replacing the "dry" caps in the power supply will fix most problems including streaky pix and crackly audio.

I have extreem amount of noise between my tascam 2488 to computer based recording program , how can I delete the noise ?

What kind of noise is it? If it is hum or buzz, then you probably have a ground loop. If it is hiss, then you are picking up noise in the cable, most likely. For ground loops, see:

As for the cable, the cheap ones with the red and gray plastic ,olded ends can get noisy after awhile as the shielding is rather fragile. Cracling type noises are usually cable related as well.

Power button on maranta cd6004 does not work and the unit does not turn on

Disconnect it from all power. Place it on a flat surface and with the flat of your palm give it a good slap over the left (as you look at it) top. Reconnect the power and try turning on. I had the same problem and this worked. There is a relay that is activated by the power button and it might be a bit sticky.

Hi my problem is with the dvd tray it does not open . it make a funny noise but it does not open thx

OK I fixed it. One of the CD's had gotten stuck between trays in the loader. I pulled out a few CD's by forcing open the trays gently. However even after removing as many cd's as possible one was still stuck. 1. Remove screws holding cover plate on in back and sides. 2. Remove cover. 3. Lift face plate latches and lift over top of unit. Remove serial cables from connectors on board. Take face plate and place aside. Remove screws from back of CD tray unit and bend back metal tab with flathead screwdriver. Lift CD unit up on one side so you can get your fingers up inside underneath and push stuck cd towards tray openings. You can gently force top few trays out. You may need to shake unit so that stuck cd reaches open end. Pull out CD. 4. Replace faceplate and connect serial cables. Plug in power cord, power on unit and make sure trays will eject normally. 5. Put it all back together!

Rt2280 no power up, no display, standby light works

Might be the relay on the power board that stands up just behind the big transformer. I has a complete no power also, I shorted out the relay legs on the black one, it started to work again. I will probably replace it, since the problem started by the system shutting off randomly.

Power short/ bad fuse?

I had the very same problem. The dreaded blinking power light. I also dabble in electronics. I found that all that was wrong with mine was one bad cap. There are two 1000uF(microfarrid) 16V(volt) capacitors in the mid section of the power board, right next to each other. One was bulging on the top. They have an "X" on top. I replaced it with a 1000uF 35V capacitor from Radioshack. They did not have a 16 volt. (Never go down to a lower voltage) The capacitor I got was larger than the old one but I gently moved over the parts around it and got in there. After replacing this one capacitor, which I got for $1.72 tax and all, I plugged it up and no more problems! It works great! I hope this helps someone else.
