Re: running clock

You might try changing the timezone to something else and then back again. It sounds like it is unable to read your timzone. you can also try moving to a different location in the house to see if it will set, and then after it has correctly set the time, move to where you wish to setup.

I have a DATEXX DRC-605 Exactime clock that just changed the date to two days ahead for some reason. How can I change it back to correct date?

Please follow these steps:

* Press and hold MODE button for 3 seconds: the year digit will flash.
* Press UP ( + ) or DOWN ( - ) to change flashing digits.
* After the first value is set, press MODE button again to confirm and move to the next parameter.
* Continue setting month, date, hour, minutes and temperature display format.
* Press MODE button for the last time to return to the time of day with seconds, after the last parameter is set.

I hope I could help.

Directions for Resetting the Daylight Savings Time (DST) Start & End Dates on the Emerson Research Smartset Dual Alarm Clock Radio on CKS1850

Unfortunately, you can't reset the firmware of the clock for those built before Jan 2006; you can work-around the issue. You will need to change time zones for the few weeks between the current daylight savings start and end dates and the ones that were built into the clock. For details see: ; click on the link for Group 1.

If the unit was built before Jan 2006 (the serial number will start with a value less than 6), switch the time zone to the next one further east on the second Sunday of March, then set it back to your correct time zone on the first Sunday of April. Repeat this on the last Sunday of October and the first Sunday of November. (If you are in the Eastern time zone (zone 2), set the switch to zone 1.)

If the unit was built between Jan 2006 and July 2006 (serial numbers that start 601 to 606), then you can change the start and end dates for DST. See: then choose the Group 2 link. Press and hold the Alarm 1 button then press the Month/Date or Calendar button. After three seconds the unit will display the start date for daylight savings. Press and hold the Alarm 1 and Month/Date or Calendar buttons. When the display is flashng (within 5 seconds from the press and hold step), press the Down or Set button (depending on the SmartSet mode) three times until the display reads 3 and F2 (alternating with the date of that Sunday).

For the end date, press and hold Alarm 2 then press the Month/Date or Calendar button. Then press and hold Alarm 1 and the Month/Date or Calendar button. Again within 5 seconds, press the Up button or Set until the display shows 11 and F.

If the display stops flashing, repeat and set the new dates faster.

You'll have to repeat this is the battery is removed or replaced.

I hope this helps.

Set clock, date, alarm on SI686 CD/ Radio / Alarm Clock with Sound Soother

Can you clarify what you need help with? To SET THE CLOCK push the "Mode" button twice. (The current time setting flashes on the display) Once it is flashing, Decrease the hours by pressing "1" Increase hours by pressing "2" Decrease minutes by pressing "3" and increase minutes by pressing "4". If no additional buttons are pressed the time will reset in about 10 seconds and the display will stop blinking.

TO SET THE DATE press the "mode" button 4 times. The current date setting will flash on the display. Decrease the date by pressing 3. Increase the date by pressing 4.

Decrease months by pressing 1. Increase the months by pressing 2. The date will reset in about 10 seconds when you stop pushing the buttons.

TO SET THE ALARM Press the "mode "button once. The display will begin to flash. Change the hours by pressing either 1 (increase) or 2 (decrease). To change the minutes, press 3 or 4. 3 decreases the minutes and 4 increases the minutes. Once you have the time reset, leave the unit alone for about 10 seconds. the display will stop blinking indicating the time has been reset.

TO ACTIVATE THE ALARM push the round button on the far right. You will see the alarm icon come on or off on the LCD display on the right side. Be sure you have set the AM or PM time correctly on the alarm time. It helps to recheck this now as I have made this mistake several times.

If you get stuck on military time and want the 12 hour clock the answer is posted on this site, as well.

Hope this helps.

Daylight savings time changes at wrong date on my brookstone 'smartset' alarm clock. (It changes at the old date, of course - so it is wrong 4 times a year...)

The DST schedule is hardwired into the older clocks and cannot be modified to run on the new schedule. If the clock has a DST switch, you can can turn it OFF and reset the clock only twice a year. On my old "ATOMIC" clock, I've set the DST function OFF, and I use the time zone switch for my adjustments. Sorry, but your only other choice is a new clock.

Emerson Research Clock w/Projection Display Not Working

You will need to reset the microprocessor in the Clock/Radio. To do this you must unplug the Clock/Radio and remove the internal battery. Let the Clock/Radio set for at least 1 hour and then put the battery back in and plug in the Clock/Radio. The functions should return to normal. If not, replace the battery (CR2430) and leave the Clock/Radio unplug for a period of hours. Then put in the new battery and and plug in the Clock/Radio to see if the functions have returned to normal. If not you may have a more serious problem with the microprocessor. You can call the Emerson customer support at this telephone number 1-800-898-9020 between the hours of 7am-5pm CT. Give them the make and model number of the Clock/Radio and ask them for assistance. I hope this information help you with your problem.
