I have an rca remote and need instructions for doing a code search. But this model does not have a code search button model RCR4128n

You can try going to the RCA website and looking up the user manual for your model of universal remote. I happened to need to do that today for mine which also has no code search button. I found out that mine is a model RCR412BN. I was able to find the user instructions on how to set the codes for my TV, DVD and Digital converter by following these instructions on the RCA website ... worked great!

You received a list of ALL Codes with your universal.

I got this off the internet. But I do not know what type of universal you bought. You didn't mention it.

if u do not have the code most universal remotes will allow you do it manually and you will have to follow these steps and insted of putting the code you can turn the tv on then press the on/off button on the remote till the tv shuts off then press enter

1. press and hold code search button until it stays on.

2. press button on remote for device

3. enter three digit number and code search light should turn off and remote should be ready.

This will take you to the RCA main customer support page. Just go to the universal remote control section and find your model remote control. Use the model number to find the technical support information page. On this page will be a copy of the owners manual and the remote control codes to use with your products. 1-Turn on the TV
2-Find the brand and code number(s) on the code list on the next page
3-Press and hold the TV button on the remote.
4-Enter the code from the code list.
5-Release TV, and then press CHAN up or down. If the TV responds to the remote commands,the remote is programmed.
6-If the TV does not respond, repeat these steps using the next code in the list.

RCA Universal remote codes for the Mitsubishi TVs are...006,011,014,019,022,027,041,056,061,068.
First, turn on TV
Press and hold code search button on remote
Press and release the TV button
Enter the three digit code you want
Release code search
