The lights on the front are flashing. Then I pulled the tv out from the wall, cleaned it up (thought that might help). Now the picture comes on for about 2 minutes, then the screen gets all screwy with lots of colors. When I try to turn the set off, it won't. I have to unplug it. Can you help. The set is only about 4 years old. Jay Walden firstname.lastname@example.org

Re: tv won't work
Check your lamp it might have gone bad if not then on these sets the color wheel goes bad if you get junk on the screen like broken bits of info and you might get a weird sound like computer noise then it might be your color wheel it is a small round glass wheel i just checked to see if your model is in this list of samsung color wheel and yes it is

Our Sony TV sometimes won't come on when the switch on the tv is pressed. Weirdly, if we switch it off at the wall socket, wait a few seconds, then switch it on at the wall socket again, the tv switch then works...... Don't understand why this works, but if it gives you a work-around, it would be a lot cheaper than a TV engineer's visit....
The TV will cause the STANDBY light to blink or flash when the TV detects an issue. The number of times the STANDBY light flashes corresponds to a specific issue.
If the TV is plugged into a power strip or a surge protector, please remove it from the power strip or the surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the TV.
Also try connecting the TV to different AC wall outlet and check if that helps.
If the issue persists, the TV needs to be Serviced.
The set will need to be serviced to allow a technician to determine the specific issue that needs to be repaired.
Please contact the local Authorized Service Center to get the TV serviced.

problem with mitsubishi wd65737. thought the bulb was bad, bought a new bulb replaced it and now the screen doesnt want to come on. light on the front of the tv turns green, you have sound but no picture then the tv turns off the light on the front is now steady red. resetting the sytem worked yesterday but not today.
The little flashing light down on front of your TV will tell you the problem by the color of the light or the blinking intervals, this is the reason you can not turn it off is telling you something. The manual should have a section dedicated to this part, most likely is the bulb, the bulb is easy to access generally hold by one or tow screws you can pull it out to verify the integrity of the bulb. Then again check the LED light before anything then you go from there.
