Hello. My HP Pavillion dv4t continues freezing on me two to three times a day. It happens when I am doing almost anything on my laptop: internet, iTunes, BlackBerry, school. I cannot even move my mouse or get to the Task Manager. There is no SpyWare (I have checked) and there are no viruses. I don't know what to do. HELP.

Use msconfig to disable unwanted processes that loads when you start windows.

1. press WINDOWS LOGO (in your kboard) + R
2. Run dialog box opens
3. type msconfig and press enter
4. click the startup tab and "DISABLE" the processes which you think unnecessary. just disable them dont delete them. just play trail and error
5. try also to disable services that are not needed in the Services Tab

cheers!

It is also important to remove the suspicious applications and programs in the computer to avoid Windows freezing. In this type of infection not only your Windows registry gets corrupted and needs massive repair but also there is virus based penetration in the Windows set up. In this situation it is recommended to conduct a virus scan as well. However, if your Windows freezes up, the best solution is to repair the computer registry.use registry cleaner reg in out

HP Pavillion laptop won't backup to optical drive...CD/DVD-RW; I do have 1 Click Copy (&Pro) installed as well as DVD43. I have tried to uninstall the DVD43 & 1 Click but it doesn't change...

HP Pavillion laptops and every others laptops do require CD/DVD recordable for backup not CD/DVD rewritable. Try to use a CD/DVD recordable to see what will happen first.

What can I safely upgrade to for gaming

0Hi there,

The Pavillion dv4t comes with a choice of specs to meet your needs. As you haven't listed them I will list the Minimum that you will need to run the games, that way, you can check them against what you have and decide if you need to upgrade.

I will list for Sims 3. Even with the basic dv4t you will not need to upgrade to play Sims 2.

Sims 3

Running Vista SP1

CPU (processor speed) - 2.4 Ghz Pentium 4 or Athlon 2400+
RAM (memory) - 2 GB
Video Card (graphics) - 128 MB (Nvidia GeForce Go 6200, ATI Radeon Mobile 9600, or equivalent)
Hard Drive (space for installation) - 6.5 GB and an extra 1.5 GB for custom content.

These are the minimum specs for running on a laptop.

Hope that helps

Pavillion laptop is not booting.

Try to boot the notebook with F8 Key. (Safe Mode)

Also try to go into the BIOS setting and change there --> Power and Boot Priority.

For BIOS try: ESC, DEL or F2 keys.
