I was asked to test a NVF200R modem at our Maui resort condo. Although advertised as plug-and-play, it was obvious from the beginning that it was not. It quit feeding an internet signal every time the phone was plugged in. Tech Support suggested some fixes in the phone room. I hooked up again, feeding the internet signal into my Belkin router. The entire Oceanic broadband cable system crashed! And I am being blamed! Seems that ALL extension phones must be plugged into your modem using splitters, no other telephone plugs in the condo can be used, and DHCP has to be disabled on my router. Sorry for venting, but I ask you, How can you advertise your modem as plug-and-play. Could you live with these restrictions in a two bedroom condo? I think you need to go back to the engineering department and develop a foolproof system! I am done with the test!
