Re: need to reset to factory setting

Press reset button on back of unit AFTER system has fully booted (time will be displayed) and your system will be back to default values - password = applianceadmin.

You can also re-image the drive to factory defaults.

What do I do if I forgot my password?

Well, if you forgot your password, you will need to completely reset the device to factory settings. There should be a recessed button on the back that is only accessible with a pin or paperclip. Press that and it will reset all of the settings to default.

Silkworm 2050

Hello, do you need to reset it because you no longer have the password? Sorry about the question however that is one of the most common reasons for folks attempting to do a "factory restore". If it is for a lost password, then my next question would be what firmware version are you running? I'm guessing it is something like FOS v2.6.x. If that is the case then the bad news here is you will need to obtain the Password Recovery firmware from your switch support provider. I say bad news because given the age of the SW 2050, this is probably no longer possible. You might give Brocade Support a try at one of the numbers listed on the following page:

If you have another need for the factory reset, reply back with those details. There isn't a factory reset button but perhaps we can look at different commands to achieve what you need to clear.

I tried to change my password and i closed the page before it finished and when i tried to connect to the internet it wont work help

Perform a reset. Find the hidden reset button, usually close to power line, find a small hole with a little button behind it. Use a toopick or similar to hold down power button for at least 10 seconds. This should restore it to factory setting and default password. Google the model # and brand and "default password" if you don't already know it. If this does not work to reset it, then try this...
Hold down reset button for 30 seconds, still holding button pull the power out, keep holding button for 30 secs, STILL holding button - plug in power then release button after 10 secs.
Yes 30 secs each cycle is overkill, but allows to be sure.

I have a netgear FS726TP and need to reset the forgotten password

You will need to reset the router to the factory settings to get in with the default user and password (user admin and password as password, or if that doesn't work try 1234). Note that you will lose the ISP settings and wireless settings when you reset the router.

Here's a video on how to reset the router to the factory default settings:

Computer no longer recognizes server

Assuming this problem is for ANY computer, not just the one.
If you still have internet access through the device, but cannot see network shares, your Samba server is down. If a full restart does not solve the problem, you need to learn Samba/Linux -or- you need to re-image the drive to factory defaults.
