Question about Panasonic TH-42PX50U 42 in. Plasma HDTV
Most of the time when this happens it is the ysus board, that noise you heard was a capacitor popping. Another board runs about $175 and thats if you do it your self. A shop will most likely charge around 500-600, hope this helps, you could also try contacting panasonic and trying to get past the tech and onto casemanagement where you might get somewhere with an out of warranty fix.

If your panasonic has intermittent power issues the tv will require service, power supply needs an adjusment that should be done by a service tech, if not then you will need a power board. Julio firstname.lastname@example.org

Count how many times it blinks. Sometimes the problem is coded in the amount of times it blinks. If you see a distiction between blinks, say like 13 then a pause then back to 13 more blinks, google solutions for a 13 blink standby for your tv and you might be able to find the soultion.
