I have started getting streaks in my flyers at the bottom third of the page. I have no warning symbol for ink that may be needed. the streaks go all the way across the page when they do appear.

1. Get a damp paper towel. 2. Set the ink cartridge right side up on the damp paper towel so that the ink nozzles are against the towel and hold the cartridge in this position for about 15 seconds. 3. Now wipe the print head (on the bottom where the ink comes out) across in one direction only (left to right) until it looks clean. 4. Next dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure that the ink is flowing. 5. Snap the cartridges back into the printer.

then print a "print quality page" from the print reports or solution center check the test pattern two if there is streaks in the print out you will need to replace out the printhead that is having issues or both.
to get to the root cause of the problem . you can try printing from the notepad and check it prints fine from the notepad . if it prints fyn then there can be some issues with the software compatibility.. which version you have for microsoft office.
It's probably like my Epson...the heads are eithr dirty or misaligned...you should have a computer diagnostic program on CD for your printer if you bought it new...if not, then you can get it from HP or possibly their webpage. The program should include an easy-to-follow alignment procedure done by a USB connection from your comp to your printer, or do the normal head cleading procedure at a service center.
