Other than VW, not many. May not be worth the troble of trying to see if any other foreign cars use the same size/design rims.

I want to buy alloys but unsure of my stud pattern

Well if you are not sure about stud pattern then go for the multi-stud alloys which are the best option that fits most vehicles easily. Even you may ask the wheel dealer like wheels.net which has wide pattern of alloy wheels for nearly every specific car models. Also you can get application manual over the internet that will suggest you about bolt pattern, offset, size and many things about your car.

I have a vw polo on an R registration, I took off the 15in alloy wheels, and tried to replace them with 13in steel rims, but the front 2 will not fit on because of the brake caliper, do i need deeper 13in...

i take it that your "r"reg car is U,K.spec.if it is, then by changing the wheels to 13 if fitted with 15 as std YOU WILL invalidate your insurance.

Will alloy wheels from a HONDA CRV fit a SUZUKI GRAND VITARA. Both are 5 stud so just wondering if anyone can help

The rims from the Honda CRV won't fit the Grand Vitara.

The Honda has a 5 X 114.3mm spacing and the Grand Vitara has 5 X 139.7mm spacing. This means that even though they are both 5 lug rims, the Honda lugs are spaced closer together than the Vitara so they won't match up.
