Re: Programming assistance needed

What aspect of programming do you need help with? Do you need the frequencies or just a place to program them?

Programming radio BaoFeng BF-888 S

This is a very broad question, however if you are just needing some instructions on how to program the Baofeng BF-888 I would start by Checking Google for an operators manual, However these radio's are much easier to program with software. Search Google for a software program called Chirp. I do believe it has support for your radio, and that will allow you to program your radio, for a more detailed tutorial, check youtube.

Programing a rdm 2080d

It is possible your PL code setting is not set the same as the other unit. Here is a link to the user guide You will find programming instructions starting on page 36.
Secondly, it is possible you have a bad or poorly charged battery. No transmit is a common problem with a bad battery, as it takes more energy to transmit than to receive. Trade batteries with a known good unit and see if it solves the problem.
If programming and/or the battery are not the issue, your radio is likely in need of repair.
Best regards.

Can a RDM2080D pair with a BPR40?

If your BPR40s are VHF (model number beginning AAH84K), the answer is yes. The BPR40s can be reprogrammed to match your new RDM2080D VHF MURS radios. This can be done by an authorized Motorola dealer with a current software subscription. (If you cannot find a dealer, look us up online, we will be happy to assist.)

You might want to consider keeping your BPR40s around. The BPR40 has a more economical battery replacement cost (under $35), and is repairable/recondition. (currently $69 flat rate)

Your BPR40s are also capable of more wattage than the RDM2080, 5 watts vs. 2 watts. However, it should be noted the BPR40s will need to be programmed to the lower wattage when going to the MURS frequencies.

Best regards.

How to retune a p210 i have 2 but they dont communicate with each other i need them to be on simplex and the same frequency thanks bruce

The P210 is a dealer programmable radio. It requires Motorola proprietary software, a RIB (radio interface box) and programming cable. The computer used to program the radio must be the same vintage as the radio. Newer computers are too fast for the processor in the P210. Most Motorola dealers would be able to assist you in programming and retuning the radio.

Best regards.

The RDM2070D is non-programmable. It operated on pre-selected frequencies. (This radio belongs to a major corporation, and is not intended for use outside their company.)

Motorola SP50 Programming

The SP50 is dealer programmable. The software, cable and RIB (radio interface box) are necessary for programming this unit. If you are needing to match an existing unit, you can have the radio programmed at your local dealer or by shipping your radios to a service center. (Typically $15 to $25 US)

When looking for the second radio, be certain to get an SP50 with the same model number as your existing unit to ensure they will work together properly. Model numbers beginning with P93 are VHF and P94 are UHF.

Motorola HT 1000 programming cable

Sorry to let you down, but the cable will only function with the appropriate Motorola software (and possibly a radio interface box (RIB) if the cable type you have requires one.) Software is only available to dealers. If you are needing reprogramming, it is generally available for between $25-$40 US.
