Hi my tv isnt working i have sound but not picture what can i do?

sounds like a Phillips or magnavox that has bad CRT coolant which needs replacement. If so you can get the Phillips CRT coolant repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com it comes with instructions and the coolant for all three CRts,

Yes, its still reasonable to have it fix , because the tv will be working fine after they replace probably the tube.

If the TV is still under warranty return it ASAP. The set will need to be serviced

check the power stage

just plug in the yellow red and white cords it should work fine

u have bad capacitor on power supply

look inside middle of board is there 2 green leds on if there isnt take back off and see which ones out

it sounds like you have hit the zoom button or your aspect ratio isnt right. the aspect ratio should be set to 16:9 (if there isnt a button for aspect ratio, change it in the menu) and there should be a zoom button on your remote and just keep hitting that and it should return to normal. If neither works, post your tv brand and model and i'll try to find another answer

Sounds like a tuner or Video output problem. What make and model set do you have.

When not watching a tape, be sure power is off ( VCR ).....
How is the picture...? When you watch tapes, do you put the
TV on channel 3 or select video..? Also, what is signal source ?
