Question about Nikon Speedlight SB-600 TTL Flash
I have a Nikon D80 and in spite of following directions provided in the manual and on several web sites, I cannot get the flash work correctly. It flashes when on the camera, but unless I have it in full auto mode, it does not synchronize with the camera. (i.e. camera is still reading as if no flash--say 2 seconds. The shutter will then stay open 2 seconds, ruining the shot unless on a tripod.) I have the camera set up to TTL and the sync speed at 1/60.
Secondly, when I try to use the flash off camera as a wireless remote flash, I set the camera to commander mode and put the squiggled arrow on the flash to "on." The flash does not fire.
Any suggestions, please!?
This one got me too. I assumed it wouldn't need the built-in flash if it was a wireless remote. I still want to know why this is is so. If it needs a pre-flash to set exposure, surely it can pre-flash with the remote SB600?
