How to clear a Machine Error 76

I'm getting a Machine Error 76 on a Brother MFC 9600. There was a crumpled paper jam inside the fuser unit. I took all the covers out just to remove the paper jam, connected all the connectors back on, including the connector on the fuser unit. Turned it back on and it comes up with the error. Need Help !!

I have the same problem. By following little bits of advice (unplugged the machine, held function key while plugging it back in, then pressed 99) I was able to clear the error 76 message, only to get an error 78 message. Any advice?

My Brother MFC 9600 is showing an Error 76 fault. Tried turning the machine off and on but that didn't work. Other postings on the Internet suggest the Fuser Unit has failed. Can this be changed in house with out the need to take it to an Authorised Brother Service Center. Cheers> JB> New Zealand

    I had a Machine Error 76 -

I followed what someone else said.

    I unplugged the MFC9600.

I held down the function key and replugged the MFC9600, then hit 99.

Believe it or not, the MFC9600 now copies.

    I hope this continues.

Error 76 is fuser error, you need to change the fuser but first just in case try to reset settings to factory defaults.

Brother 2270 laser printer started jamming every time, after I installed a new toner. It was a Brother toner, at that. Anyone experience this?

Silly question first - is the drum unit DR2225 installed?

Check the toner cartridge sits firmly in the drum and that the drum is pushed all the way forward in the internal cavity. If the paper is jamming at the paper pick up roller ie in the paper tray, clean the paper pick up roller with a drop of meths and a drop of detergent on a damp cloth. If the paper jams in the drum unit, check the clear plastic guide flaps are straight and do not catch the paper. Also check that there is not a piece of paper caught in the drum unit. If the paper gets part way through the drum and then jams, check the fuser at the back for a piece of paper crumpled up inside the fuser. If the printer is trying to take ALL the paper at once, check and clean the paper separation shoe in the paper tray.

Brother MFC 7420 - paper jams in fuser unit -

Its probably the pickup roller and/or separator pads. Another possibility is a tear in the fuser heat cover. IF you can manually rotate the fuser(when its cool) you can see if the fuser roller has any problems. Last thing is make sure its looking at the right paper size. Maybe reset all software settings and start over? If its looking for one size and seeing another, it may cry jam.

My mfc 9600 shows machine error 76 can you explain the fault

That tells you either the wires to the fuser are un-plugged, or the fuser is burned out. Most likely you need a new fuser.

Brother MFC 8460

Hi
There must still be a piece of paper in the machine check the fuser section at the rear of the machine maybe be piece there or check at the paper cassette area remove cassette and check that the paper hasn't got jammed as it feeds through.

Document jam brother mfc 8460n

you cannot clear this unless there is still a presence of paper inside the machine.

or you can open and close your machine once you are cleared of any paper jammed, be sure not to leave and removed all residual paper in the paper path, the tiny sensor would recognize any sort of this and thus make your machine unoperable.

Paper Jam with no access to clear

you will need to remove the fuser module from the machine and open the fuser to remove the wrinkeled paper inside the fuser section. then reinstall the duser in the reverse way
