I have misplaced the instruction book and now have a problem.
The machine only goes in reverse. Any assistance would be appreciated
I have re-oiled profusely the reverse button on my Riccar 9900. It now is able to be depressed and is not stuck. However, my machine still is stuck in a reverse feeding direction.

I tried everything to free off the button(Oil Heat), then I looked at the instruction book.
Button has a lock on it you push in and down to lock, pushing button up should release the latch, and button should pop out.

On all sewing machines there is a button or lever which makes the machine go backward. The button could be stuck, if so put a drop of oil on it and try to release it. If there is a lever that has been raised which puts the machine in reverse, simply lower it to the lowest position. This should solve the problem.

My 6030 is also stuck and will only reverse. I took it in to have it looked at and they found that the it was stuck in the button hole mode. They opened it up and also found that the fixed cam gear was cracked and could break at any time. The repair will cost me $170! After doing a little research it looks like the repair will be the cheapest option to get a good sewing machine. I also tried the feed dog button to fix the problem to no avail. If you're having the same problem check to see if the needle is centered, if it's not it may also be the button hole mode. Weird thing for me was I was actually using the zigzag when this happened and hadn't used the button hole mode in months.
Svenska: Jag LöSTE problemet. öppnade höger lucka, tog även bort bakstycket där trådrullarna "rullar" på, vände UPP maskinen så den STOD upp som ett höghus. Droppade in "symaskinsolja" där glidytorna uppstår när man trycker in/ut "backknappen". LåT STå ett tag... Petade med lämplig skruvmejsel tillbaka backknappen, fram å tillbaka samtidigt som jag oljade in lite mer... TILL **** gick det lättare å lättare. Montera ihop = KLART. / Magnus
