Question about Mitsubishi WD-52725 52". Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Mitsubishi WD-52725 Lamp was replced 9-13-07 and on 11-2607 tv goes dark and lamp light glowing solid red. The sequence is:1. TV gets power and timer/power light blinks fast (about 1 minute).2. timer/power light stays steady green.3. seconds later lamp light stays steady red. (never a sign of light)According to the manual this indicates "lamp has failed" but the lamp is new and shows no signs of poping. Is there a known problem with this set? Resets don't help. Fans are good and running. Any ideas would be appreciated. SE

Posted a short while ago but have more information Mitsubishi DLP WD 52725 - sound no picture - blinks 3 short times and 1 long time

have you checked the lamp? with those models they will power up and if the lamp is bad you can hear audio until the tv shuts off. the lamp is located in the front behind the speaker grill assembly. if the "status" light is blinking then you are having a fan failure if the "lamp" light is on then check the lamp like i listed above.

It sounds like you need to replace the lamp for your TV unit. Also don't forget to replace the lamp use hours timer otherwise the TV unit will not recognize a new lamp has been installed. I hope this helps. Good luck.

I have a mitsubishi WD-52525 DLP Tv; I replaced the lamp, powered on the system, I hear the fan go on, the green wait light goes solid after a few seconds and a few minutes later the lamp light goes solid...

Chances are the lamp is not bad. Is the lamp door reseated properly? The is an interlock on that door that must be activated in order for the set to turn on. If the unit was woking before the lamp went out this may be the problem

Random, intermittant blue lines

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.

For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.

Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:

12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
