Switch on the smartst on the navman but when I go to put in a destination or go to recent there is nothing in the 'country' drop down menu and in the recent if I click on a location it comes up with 'Error the end location could not be located.
I've checked on the smartst desktop and it says the map is on my pocket pc??
please help
POWER UP AND THEN LET IT DRAIN 100 PERCENT AND THEN DO MASTER RESET
HOOK UP USB WITHOUT BATTERY IN IT AND SEE IF YOUR CAN REINSTALL SOFTWARE

Contact (I believe its Garmin for that model). I think you will have to buy another copy of their software. If your maps are more than a year old, they are due for an update anyways.
RECENTLY I DID PRETTY MUCH THE SAME THING
SO HERE IS WHAT I DID :
" I TURNED IT ON AND HIT THE HARD RESET AND THEN LEFT IT ON TILL ALL P[OWER WENT AWAY FROM UNIT
SECOND I HAD TO DOWNLOAN A NEW VERSION FOR MY UNIT ; MEANING MAP
THEN I TOOK THE BATTERY OUT AND AND PLUGED IN MY USB CORD AND IT TOOK IT
I PUT MY BATTERY IN AND CHARGED OVER NIGHT AND WELL IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT TO DO BUT FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND MY DRIVER GOT BOOTED OFF THE UNIT AND ANOTHER DRIVER FOR A MODEL WAS ATTACHED
HOW I DONT KNOW BUT MY UNIT WORKS NOW FOR THE LAST 4 MONTHS NO PROBLEMS
You can unlock the iCN520 and install other GPS software on it. The
iCN520 can run virtually all the major GPS software available today;
from Tomtom to Miomap and beyond.
