red light flashes on wireless mouse and will not work. if I push both buttons, it stays red for a moment, and then begins to flash again. oh yes, I downloaded the software again - it didn't help

- Thanks for trying to help. The mouse and receiver has worked for about 2 years with minor problems. Don't ever remember the light on mouse flashing constantly though!

It sounds like you may have the wrong receiver for the mouse. Check the serial numbers on both to see if they match.
