Re: Security against uploading

Just a suggestion-my family members download from Napster. $14.95 per month. Been using it for over a year. Can't tell you anything about their security, but we've never had a problem.

Forgot the password to a Toshiba A105-2236. I've been told that I have to send it in to Toshiba, is that true? Is there anyway I can retrieve without having to send it in? I was also told they charge a...

IF you have your bill of sale, a good local shop can reset the password but it will still cost you. At least you avoid the shipping and maybe it will be less than $100.

Programs that reset passwords are expensive to buy, IF you can find them.

Otherwise, yes, you have to send it back.

When i try to download free music it takes hours i turn off my computers security but i am told i do not have a port open how do i get a port and how do i use this p.s. i am a novice at this

Stay away from free music sites!! Stay away from the programs they want you to use, you will need a good, good anti virus, anti spam, anti anti junk program, Now some people do not have a problem at all, but most of the people I have had to get junk out of their computers got it from free music downloads.

You will not be able to register it as it is alread registered to the other computer, unless they are exactly alike. Then using a hard drive  backup  and restore program is the best and easiest way to do it.  Just back up the date from the XP on the restore it to the 2k one. Again .This wil only work if they are exactly alike, down to the CPU type plus.

Try downloading VLC, from It's a pretty good program that will play just about any file. The only "bad" thing about it is a new version seems to come out about twice a month. That will play your DVDs just fine.

Music doesn't play

Open the device manager and check to see if the audio drivers are there. Any device that needs drivers will have a yellow question mark next to them. If they aren't there, you will need to go to Dell's support site and download them. If they are, then unistall the audio/sound drivers and reboot. The machine will find the sound card and reinstall the drivers. With some sound drivers, but not all, they do not automatically adjust the sound settings, leaving the volume very low or muted, therefore you may need to manually adjust the sound settings.
