No parts available for it. Do not waste any money on it. Buy a used typewriter at a Thrift store.

I have a brother GX8500 electric typewriter I replace the ribbon and it turns on and everything but I can't type it won't do anything else

If your Brother GX-8500 electric typewriter is not typing after replacing the ribbon, here are a few things you can try:
  1. Make sure the ribbon is properly installed. Ensure that the ribbon is installed with the correct side facing the platen and that it is threaded properly through the guides.
  2. Check the print wheel. Make sure the print wheel is properly installed and that none of the spokes are bent or damaged. If the print wheel is damaged, it may need to be replaced.
  3. Check the correction tape. If your typewriter has a correction tape, make sure it is installed properly and that it is not jammed or tangled. A faulty correction tape can cause typing issues.
  4. Check the power supply. Make sure the typewriter is properly plugged in and that the power outlet is functioning. You can also try plugging the typewriter into a different outlet.
  5. Try resetting the typewriter. Some typewriters have a reset button or combination of buttons that can be pressed to reset the machine to its default settings. Refer to the user manual or contact Brother customer support for instructions on resetting your specific model.
If none of these solutions work, it's possible that there may be a more serious issue with the typewriter that requires professional repair.

Keyboard want work

If your machine is not printing properly:
1.Examine the ribbon cartridge to make sure it has not run out of Ribbon. If your ribbon appears silver or gray, install a new cartridge.
2. Ensure the black lever in the center of the carriage is pressed to the rear, towards the paper. If not press it to the rear to lock the Daisy Wheel into place.
3. With the typewriter turned off, press and hold down the "CODE" Key, the "SHIFT" Key, and the "TAB" Key.
4.Restore power with all three Keys depressed.
5.When the machine sounds a beep tone, release all three keys.
6.The carrier will move to the left indicating that the memory has been cleared and the machine has been reset.
7.Try typing.
If the problem continues, your unit will need servicing. You can locate a Brother Authorized Service Center in your area:

I have a brother GX6750 typewriter do not understand how to install correction ribbon

well, the correction ribbon is for erasing mistakes, it literally, pulls the ink off the paper, but you have to hit the correction button, the type writer will back up and pull the ink, but you would hear ait and be able to tell the diff. I think maybe you should check 1st that the ink ribbon is the 1 closest to you, and the correction ribbon is behind the ink ribbon- also make sure they are in the correct direction- ink side of the ribbon facing your paper- sticky side of the correction ribbon facing the paper- so its you, the ink ribbon and then the correction ribbon then the paper

Old typewriter Brother DELUXE 800 : ribbon reference ?

This is what you are looking for:
Brother Typewriter Ribbon spool black and red SC-20BR-BRO Compatible
Brother Typewriter Ribbon spool black and red SC-20BR-BRO Compatible
Brother Typewriter Ribbon spool black and red SC-20BR-BRO Compatible
The typewriter ribbons for use in Brother manual typewriters are usually all the same. What matters is the size (diameter and hight) of the spools. They differed only in that they were available in different colours (usually black or black and red) and in different materials: some ribbons were made of nylon (cheaper) and other made of silk (more expensive and higher quality) .
Maybe some old and good stationer's (papeterie) still carries them or has some in stock.
Or else you may want to contact the customer support service of Brother, in France, for advice on where to find them in your Country.
