what exactly is the model number ? C700 is not enough

it might be C700 CTO or C700EM or C700ET

have a look at the exact model number on the back side of the laptop

Before installing the audio drivers please install the UAA drivers first. Then restart the computer and install the remaining drivers. Carefully follow on-screen instructions, if any, during the installation.

Go to the following website and download the drivers for the audio device.

if that doesnt work, go to start menu, and then select "run"
type in "dxdiag" and click on the sound tab and and look at the box labeled "device"...it should say something like "name". google whatever it says the name is +drivers...so if the name is "sigmatel audio", type in "sigmatel audio+drivers" into google and look for the official site of the sound device and download the drivers.

This link will open download page from HP click on your OS i.e. Vista/XP. Then the all drivers will be listed for your Note Book, go and download which one you want.
