I have installed Tenda W301A access point in my home. Only one PC can connects to the access point. If i try to connect other computer, its shows limited connectivity.

I assume you mean there is no internet connection except for one PC. You cannot connect an access point to the internet and distribute the internet access. For this you need a router.

AP does typically also not have a DHCP what would allow several clients at least to connect to each other.

Have a DIRECTV mobile internet stick, which plugs into a USB port to have internet access. I want to make my internet access a wifi access. What do I need to do this ?

If you do not already have a wifi router you will need to purchase one, install it and connect your Directv receiver to it. If you do have already, you will have to go through the settings on your Directv receiver to setup a wireless connection.

No enternet access

Check the wireless router and high-speed modem.

If the two are not powered on, or if the Ethernet cable connected the two is not completely inserted into both connection ports, you are unable to access the Internet on the Acer Aspire One laptop computer.

Activate the wireless Internet connection on the laptop computer.

Right-click the wireless icon on the desktop, then choose "Enable" from the pop-up menu.

Without activating the wireless receiver on the Acer Aspire One, the laptop is unable to detect any wireless network.

Select the appropriate network you wish to connect to.

Your computer may be attempting to connect to a different Internet connection, preventing you from access the network you desire.

Right-click the wireless icon, select "Search for available wireless networks," then choose the network you want to access.

Restart the computer.

The system may have booted and failed to detect the wireless receiver.

Restarting the computer corrects this issue.

hope this helps

I use a Cisco Wireless-N Router E1000 to connect wirteless laptop. The Cisco is connected to the main router to internet. IP internet router is 192.168.1.254 The Cisco router is 192.168.1.1 The laptop...

I'm confident that having both routers distributing the same subnet is causing a conflict.
You should change the Cisco router to 192.168.2.1. and let it deliver IP addresses by DHCP.

That should do the trick.

What is the difference between an adapter and router?

Hi

A router is a device that normally will be connected to the modem which gets the internet connection from the modem & gives out a wireless signal.

An adapter is a device that will be connected to the computer. This is a wireless receiver which receives the wireless signal from the wireless router & connectes to internet.

D-Link DIR 655 - DHCP server but no internet

This usually happens when the router has timed out trying to grab an IP address from your modem.

I suggest unplugging your router and modem, waiting 1 minute, plugging in your modem, wait 1 minute, plug in your router, wait 1 minute, then try to connect again.

If this solution has helped you, please take the time to rate me.

One computer not able to access internet

you got to make sure the wireless settings of the wireless adapter is the same with the router. usually this problem happens if the wireless encryption or password you used in the computer is not the same wireless password in the router.

Inside

In simple terms the internals of the router are of little physical interest -- given that I would describe a router as a computer that controls communication traffic. In the case of this specific device it can distribute an incoming internet connections to up to 4 wired devices and numerous wireless devices. Internally the routers programming can be optionally configured (generally using an internet browser). Some of the capablities include the ability to encrypt wireless communications to prevent others from using your internet connection, it can address logon/login requirement should your internet service provider require them and it can limit access to specified MAC addresses assigned to your network cards (also preventing unauthorized access). Again physically what is inside a router is of little interest to me as the changes I consider necessary are all accessible from a web browser without physically getting inside of the router.
