Ps3 hdmi issue

hi there sorry if this is badly written but i just writ a very long descripton and when i clicked post it deleted everything and said enter product, anyway ive got a hanns-g monitor works fine, a ps3, also works fine, and two different hdmi cables and hdmi to dvi convertors which also work fine, put it all together, we have a problem no screen, it attempts to connect but just shows a black screen, none of the ''hold the power button down during startup'' techniques work (recommended by sony) hanns-g says the monitor works fine with the ps3 and ive had hdmi working before with my ps3 on another monitor, ive also had a x-box 360 running on it thru the dvi port which works fine, there should be nothing wrong at all, NOTHING, but still there is something wrong please if you can help even in some small way it would be appreciated
