Question about HP vs15 15"LCD Flat Panel Monitor

Power button stay on for 2 seconds, black screen,no picture

I have a HP vs 15 flat panel LCD for 1 year. This morning, the monitor couldn't wait up! I reboosted the system, turn the monitor power in, the power button stayed on for 2 seconds, then click and automatically off again. I tried to unplug the power cord and plugged in again, reboost the system and still no luck. The monitor screen stays black, no picture or sound at all. What's going on? I tried to plug it with other hard drive and same problem happened. I tried other monitor with the same harddrive, other monitor works. Does that mean this HP monitor is broken for good?

1 month after the warranty expired on my hp vs 15 my screen went blank. hooked it up to another computer and the same thing happens. hook another monitor up to mine and it works. can this be fixed?

The printer is plugged in and connected to the computer. Isn't responding to the "on" button being pressed, have to unplug and plug back in to make it switch on, then it automatically switches back off again.

It's less costly to buy a new LCD monitor than having it fix.

The power supply in this monitor has probably failed, but since HP doesn't stock spare parts for their monitors you will probably need to replace the whole monitor. HP only does full unit replacements on their LCD monitor range.

HP also doesn't provide any electronic schematics so getting it repaired will be difficult.

My Hp vs 15 lcd monitor failed to come on and after a while started smelling like it was burning so i unplugged it.How can this be fixed?

If you have electronics experience then you can troubleshoot it and repair it if you don't have any experience soldering electronics I would recommend attempting a repair. Most likely it is a bad capacitor I would visually inspect them.
thank you,
Lee

No power when u plug in an turn on HP vs15 15 in. Flat Panel LCD Monitor.can u tell me how to open it up so i can check the switch

You need thin flat blade screw driver to crack open the case, it is almost the same as VS19, more likely to havebad caps with bulging tops, see pictures here: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/HP%20VS19D/

My HP vs 17 LCD monitor is stuck to my desk.

spilled coffee or cola on the the desk
soak it in water, with 1 drop dish soap.
let is side there, even lay down paper towels soaked.
then in 15 to 30min, it will un glue.

this is not a PC question, or electronics
pure mechanics.
101,
even ash tray or vase can do that, if sugar drinks spilled.

I have the monitor settinggs program on the screen and I cannot get rid of it. the mouse will not enter the menu box.

It should go away on it's own, it's your monitor's menu and the mouse has no affect on it.

Simply unplug the monitor from the power wait for 15 secs and turn it back on, if it's still there it means there is something wrong with your monitor.
