Which way is it "closing" ? top & bottom moving towards center or sides moving in towards center? one is vertical problem the other is horizontal, let me know and I can give you an answer.

Dark picture on quasar sp5133b

There are two possibilities the first is A bad picture tube which would be too expensive to repair or it could be the capacitor in the 220 volt source which is derived from the flyback transformer most likely it is 10MFD @ 350 WV or close to that

How do I turn off the caption on this freakin Sharp Liq. Crystal T.V.? I lost the manuel! IT'S NOT A SANYO...IT'S A SHARP T.V. MODEL # LC40E77UM

For switching off the closed caption option do the following.

1. Press CC on the remote.
• This will present the Closed Caption information display.

2. Press CC while the Closed Caption information is
still on the screen.
• Press repeatedly until you select the desired closed
caption service as OFF.

Lcd tv has no picture

The inverter pcb inside the tv has probably gone bad. The inverter lights the small fluorescent tubes behind the panel for back light. Take a bright flashlight and hold it close to the front and see if there is any picture. You have to be patient with this method and look real close. If you see the picture it is definately the inverter. Common problem. Thanks

Toshiba 32'" tv wont give sharp picture

no rocket science here - my son fiddled with the cable cord attachment, until presto, the screen became sharp. Then we moved away as fast as possible, lest we shifted it and it put us back at square one.!!

Good day.
Try to check the crt socket. Also, check for the loose contacts along the Chroma IC. Like wise, there is a screen adjustment on the rear portion of the flyback. Try to adjust the screen.

Response is highly appreciated.

Sharp 17" TV

It's the Closed Captioning function I think. I've had the problem with my Sharp TV (and other TV's that have Closed Captioning function). Look at the menu or the manual to see how to turn off Closed Captioning. It might be marked as "CC".

Picture adjustment questions

*The brightness control setting determines how bright your picture will be. *The contrast control sets the gain of the video circuit. This determines the difference between dark and light scenes. Low contrast settings make the picture "hazy". High contrast settings make the picture more distinction between dark and light scenes. *The sharpness control determine the frequency response of the video circiut. High sharpness settings give better resolution but also shows more noise in your picture. Lower sharpness settings smoothe out the picture removing noise but also fine detail. It needs to be set for the best all around picture. *Picture Enhancement is pre-set adjustments which give you different picture qualities. You just select the one you like. Stargazer
