i am using microtek monitor..but the light/brightness is going dim day by day...what is the problem what should i do? pls help..

Need to get the screen back. It show the desktop icons and then it goes black can anyone assist me?

your monitor is going to damage.the parts inside has leak.the capacitor inside.if you can open your monitor try to diagnose capcitors beside flyback.some of them has a leaky state.ok good luck.
