Your monitor is going to damage.the parts inside has leak.the capacitor inside.if you can open your monitor try to diagnose capcitors beside flyback.some of them has a leaky state.ok good luck.

Microtek C783 Monitor flickers when turned on

Hi there. Try to remove and reseat your video card first... maybe there's nothing wrong with it actually...

But if you check the on-screen display, like the brightness controls in your lcd monitor blinking... then you need to have it repaired or replaced.

Hope I gave you an Idea.. ^_^

Acer AL175 TFT monitor is coming on but its very dim

The screen itself is starting to go bad which is why your having to turn up the brightness to 100% just to see something. Replacing the screen would cost more then the whole lcd monitor itself so its best to get a new one.

Going dim, POS NCR 7452 cash register 9" vga mono.

bcollier696, You did not state how many hours of use this small screen monitor has on it!! You may need to replace the CRT if it has been in use for a long time. Can you approximate the total "ON" time of said unit? Is it >10k hrs. Multiply hrs/day x 300 days x yrs of use. If u come up with 15k hrs or more replace the unit with an LCD if possible.

Screen very dim, but set on 100% brightness.

Good Morning! With the 8 years operations of your emachines monitor, some of its electronic parts might incurred cold solder joint connections from its circuit board & possibly some of its Capacitor parts are already worn-out. please try to get assistance from an electronic service technician which will surely diagnose & repair the problem. best regards.

Microtek 997M monitor doesn't stay on...

The inverter is the most common item to fail on a LCd monitor. Capacitors usally fail the most. Are the tops of any of them popped up. If you had any shorted transistors the fuse would probably be blown. Usally labeled F1. I would replace all the capacitors first and go from there. Capacitors are cheap.

17" Monitor keeps going black

Hi Rahni, It's a very common problem. LCD's use four small Cold Compact Fluorescent bulbs to back light the display. (thats what gives the LCD it's brightness allowing you to see it) The inverter board runs these lights and when they go bad they will typically show symptoms like you have or the monitor power light comes on and you have either no display or a very dim display. If you ever have one that has no display but the power light is on you can check by shining a flashlight directly into the LCD from the front (right into the screen) if you can see an image then it's either the inverter board (most likely) or the CCFL bulbs have gone bad. The inverter board and CCFL's are replaceable. Good Luck, El Duderino
