Question about Philips Recorder DVD-R72

1 Answer

Philips DVDR75 After a recording - when trying to play back - each programme has its little picture, but it intermittantly goers on and off - also when it appears to be stable - you can not get it to accept the 'play or erase' button - then after a shirt while the message 'Disc Error' comes up - and you have to switch off the power to get out of the 'disc error' picture. The disc works fine on another record or computer - have tried both next door!!Any ideas. It has only just started playing tricks.

Re: Philips DVDR75

Try a lens-cleaning DVD. If the problem persists, the internal drive will probably have to be replaced.

Your device is designed for playing back region 1. It will also playback disks recorded with a region setting of all. The region setting of the device is fixed. Also it will only playback NTSC, and not PAL . This is also fixed on your unit. Sorry I could not bring you better news. However there are many burning and conversion programs you can use on your computer (ie Nero Vision, ConvertXtoDvd,..) which provide you the optional settings you are looking for, and allow you to burn in the setting you choose, allowing for playback on your Philips device. Good Luck!

Hey there Dante471, you can roll back the driver to it's original setting before the update. Control panel / Administrative tools / computer management / device manager / your dvd drive / driver / roll back driver. I suggest you shut down all other applications, and follow procedure with a restart. If further details are required or you need elaboration on method, let me know. Good Luck!

Blocked dvd tray

The disk inside is most likely jammed. It would be best to take it to a repairman, or you can try to remove it your self.
