Re: Univex mixers

Im not bias on my opinion, but from the repairs i do on mixers hobart mixers are far superior than other manufactures.Hobart is over 100 yr old company that started with mixers and their service dept. is good.unlike any mixer out on the market they mirror off of hobart.

What type of gear lube should I use for my Hobart H600 mixer?

Hi, btperduell

below is a copy of an e-mail from I searched the web forhours for the correct oil and could not find any info so I e-mailed Hobart. The Planetary is a different part from the transmission andthe sight glass on a M802 is for the oil in the transmission. The answer that Hobart gave is not an NSF oil. Ineeded the oil for the planetary section on a model M802. Even the directionssay that it is normal for a drop of oil to occasionally drip from the seal. That is where the dough hook attaches. I am in the process of researching the oil and Exxon / Mobildoes make a NSF version. I just need to find somewhere I can buy less then a 55-gallondrum. The above mixer only uses 6 ounces. Take care and stay safe Thank you Mike Hobart E-mail follows ============================================================== Mike, Hobartuses "EXXON SPARTAN EP-150 (6 oz)" in the M802 planetary. Hobart part #102973-13. This IS NOT a food grade oil. If you mixer is leaking you shouldhave it serviced. Service, parts , lubricants and information canbe obtained by contacting your local Hobartoffice in Pittsburgh@ (412) 788-5380. I have a hobart A200 with no safty gard is it possible bay just the gard and attache it to the mixer and where can i buy it?thank you

It has to be installed as a kit by a Hobart Technician. I do not believe they will sell the kit to the general public. After it is installed you can buy parts as needed.

Hi, I have a Hobart A200 F model mixer. The rear of the motor housing has a crack in it, just about where the rear bearing is. Can this type of metal be welded? thank you.

I'm a hobart tech and repair these often.I suggest you use jb weld, its a 2 part mix and is very strong if you follow the directions carefully.I would not weld, been there done that with no luck.Any ?

Which kenwood mixer to buy?

Hi. Congratulations for researching mixers. I wish I had before I bought my Kitchenaid HD Pro. All mixer manufacturers over-rate their products. Goto and do a search for each mixer you are considering. Most mixer failures are caused by mixing heavy cookie or bread doughs. Although manufacturers claim that their mixers can easily handle these doughs...They cannot! My Kitchenaid self-destructed after 30 batches of bread dough. "For the way it's made"! Indeed! I solved my problem by buying a Hobart N50 mixer. It's a 5qt. and handles anything I throw into the bowl. I bought mine used, and refurbished it myself. New these units cost $2,035.00 USD.

If this solution has assisted you, please rate it. Good luck! ricardok45.

Hobart 20 QT. mixer (HL 200) will not operate on a GFCI receptacle.

you need to replace the gfci, the older gfci's interpret these frequencies as a shock hazard and shut off power to the can buy @hobart, part#913053, that should solve the trip problem. dont forget to vote thanks monomoy
