Blender base cog is stripped. Can it be ...

blender base cog is stripped; the ''teeth'' on the cog were smoothed out when blade-cap didn't sit down on it all the way. No longer engages.
Can it be replaced and if so, where do I find it? I'm guessing I have to buy a new base - arrgh!

yes you can get a new base. your best bet is to google the brand name and buy the part from the manufacturer
