Suddenly I can't turn up the volume. I can hear it but it's so soft I have to turn my laptop's volume up all the way. When I click on the little speaker icon (in between the - and +) it says, "speaker off"
I've tried resetting defaults and everything, but I never changed them. I didn't change anything.
Help!

- Ok that worked...now when I go to watch movies online streaming, hulu, megavideo, etc there is no volume on those! blah! everything is up to the max and it's completely silent!Best Solution

To change the volume there are 2 sliders not just 1. It s the master volume (the one u are moving) and the Wave Volume or "Application" as Vista likes to call it..
Right Click your volume icon > Open Volume Mixer > Turn the other Slider (aplications) to max.
That should do it..
It went down because some programs (most actually) internally use the Application volume, so when u switch the volume inside the program THAT slider moves.. not the master one. And it doesn t always come back to the point where it was after u leave the game/program..
