Question about Audio & Video Receivers
Can you help me with my Akai unit, once I turn it on the SEEK dial wont stop as well as the display so it cannot recieve any signal/station at all. Many thanks!

This is a common fault - faulty capacitors in the power supply section need replacement. Low and noisy voltage rails are stopping the Akai initialising properly.

Connect the HDMI outputs on your various components to the HDMI inputs on your receiver. Connect the HDMI output on the receiver to the input on your TV. HDMI incorporates digital audio, so no need to buy optical audio cables. If your receiver does not have HDMI inputs for all your components, you will need to make a choice. HDMI = Best, component video + optical audio = second best, S-video+ optical audio = third best

in that receiver ther is a fuse that controls the display, I have the same unit, there are 4 fuses by the power supply, it would be one of those, I cant remeber which one but if the fuse is blown it will turn of the entire display. Check that out and if thats not the problem, then there is a short in the unit.
