I have a Technics stereo,stack system,turned it on,and volume was really load!.tried turn down,but switched it off..turned on again,but amp not working,HELP

Hello there..

Well if it is what i suspect, it is either a capasitor or ic which is broken. If you open up the amp, you must be able to see where the speakers plug in from the outside. Now trace back the path of the chajnnel and look if you can see blown or damaged capasitors(Cilyndrical objects). You should be able to see this right away if it is damaged, most of the time. Did you smell something when the amp stopped working?

If you are not confident working on electrics i suggest that you take it in for repairs. If you try to fix it yourself, you can loose your warrenty. Capasitors and ic units are very cheap, so if it is what i thinkl, it will be a quik fix. Really hope this can help you.]

Best regards

Speakers humming. No reception.

The audio amplifier in the unit has failed, and that's what you smell. Turn it off and quit using it immediately - it presents a fire hazard. It might be possible to replace the bad parts. Depending on what it cost, you might want to take it somewhere for a repair estimate, but be prepared to learn it might not be fixable. Often the burned parts damage the circuit board as well.

Usually this happens in small stereo systems because of running them at high volumes for a long time. If you want to listen to loud music, you would be better off putting the money into a higher-power system.

My RCA RS2622 sound stopped working.

I'll need to look up your specific model to be sure, but I believe that the speaker outputs come from an amp pac. The headphones are driven by an opamp IC. The outputs are blown on this. If you can solder, you should be able to repair this. I'll look up the parts required and get back to you.

Sharp Stereo- Protect Mode??

Try plugging in a pair of headphones. I tried it without the speakers connected and since it found the headphones and they were OK the system came out of protect mode.

Sound Won't play

We had the same problem with our last rca stereo. I don't remember what model it was. My husband took it apart and found that there was and area on the circuit board that was fried. I don't know of any other solution then the one we chose. Trash it. I'm not expert but I would imagine that you could by a new stereo for the price of replacing that circuit board. Just don't buy an rca. They are junk. Our new rca just quit playing cds.

Need help

I have this stereo and so do 2 friends. We've all had the same problem but I turned my stereo into a certified repair shop and they fixed the problem. I think something on one of the PCB's inside the unit misaligned. I didn't pay more than $50 for the repair. There was no major repair they told me.

Wont turn on

Its too bad this is a solid state system and has no user replaceable parts inside unless you have some knowledge of printed circuit board repairs. It sounds as there may be a power supply problem or the output devices are bad and loading down the power supply. These days, most of these type of systems, do not pay to have them repaired, unless you want to of course. I have found most repairs with the labor are almost or exceed the cost of a new one. Hope this helps. Good Luck Ps Please dont forget to rate this thread
