if the model number is 50hdx82 you most likely have a bad convergence Ic====this set uses two STK-392-110----both need to be replaced and the set adjusted---if you are able to do the work yourself go to Ebay and look for the stk number---best place to buy from there is Suburban Electronics--you can buy both IC's for about 12 dollars plus shipping and they also offer a kit with soldering iron, solder and both chips for about 20 dollars---if not, get a quote from local people to get this done, most of the time this kind of problem can be repaired right in your home.
