Won't record DVD+R

I record a movie using the same brand(Fugi DVD+R) works good. Then, next from the same package disks it says this disk is unrecordable like 10 out of 15 disks. Did I get a bad bunch of disks or recorder problems.

Re: Won't record DVD+R

I have been working throug a stack of 25 Windata, the cheap ones. DVD +R/ They have been working 100%, every time. The only problem I have is when I leave machine to shut itself down because I am not there to stop it at end of movie.. The disk becomes so full that I cannot get to disk to finalize and it will never play on another machine. When I hit the Disk Edit on such an overcrammed disk, the drop down menu with Finalize at bottom does not come up Only the hand with the red crossout sign over it comes up..

My HDD/DVD recorder will not format discs.

You can format only RW disks. If you are using R (recordable only once) disks you don't need to format them, just burn directly the movies.

CyberHome DVD 1600 won't record to Sony disk

I believe the recorder is bad, it should be able to accept all brands and types of disks. You might want to try another brand and type of disk just to make sure, if it does not work, the recorder is bad. Good luck to you!

Errors burning to 1x to 16x DVD-R

I have had much luck recording on off brand 16X discs as follows:

1) Record a "dummy" program on the hard drive, need only about 15 or 20 seconds.

2) Put a blank disk in drive, and COPY that dummy program to disk. Do not finalize.

3) After a minute or so, window will come up and say "Cannot
complete copy."

4) Now while above window on screen, click HOME MENU, COPY, New program list, Select your movie/program to copy, go ahead and finalize, and START.

5) Think you'll find this is successful, however there might be some brands of blank disks that won't work.

6)Let me know if it works for ya. JGIDUSKO@CFL.RR.COM

Sylvania dvr90vf dvd recorder

Unfortunately without a firmware upgrade the only disks you can use are DVD-R or DVD-RW. The tricky part is that you can ONLY USE 2X speed. Per my conversation with Sylvania there is a firmware update that will allow you to use up to 8x disks, but they are charging $17.00 for it.

What DVD+R Do my player require?

The disks required by the go-video are the dvd+r only..the brand shouldn't make any difference.
I would stay away from the 'cheapies',but you dont need expensive disks.
if you get an error when you start 'rec' ,the message displays why.
check your settings, and be sure the record timer is off.
if you have multiple segments recorded, and you record until the disk is full,
it may not finalize because there is not enough room on the disk for the menu structure.
the disk will only play in this machine. if it simply wont record, you might try a lens cleaning disk.
or you have a failure in the write laser.

After formatting the disk, it reads that it is an invalid disk.

I have a Liteon LVW-1107. It is a very tempramental machine. It tends to prefer +R or +RW disks. Will record on -Rs but may fail with them.
On occasion when I insert a store bought DVD movie I will get an
invalid disk warning. The machine seems to get confused.

What I do is pull the power cord and let it set a few minutes.
Give it a little time to reset. Sometimes you have to do this a couple times. It has always worked for me. I hope it will work for you.

Good luck. This is not a top of the line machine.

Problem dubbing from VHS to DVD

Try different brands of disk, most dvd-r recorder are disk sensitive, buy only one disk per brand, find the brand compatible to your recorder by just inserting the disk and wait for confirmation that it is ready for recording session. I have tried around five brands, sony and maxell as well as verbatim are good dvd-r disk.
