The igniter in the oven does not spark. It heats up and glows red hot until enough current opens the safety gas valve to the burner. It is not associated with the stovetop burners. Replace the oven igniter itself.

Oven won't heat.

Good Afternoon Gwen - Try reprogramming the range by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn the unit back on. If issue persists, then the unit could possibly be experiencing an issue with a wiring failure, EOC (electronic oven control), sensor probe and/or faulty bake or broil element. I would strongly recommend consulting a professional to narrow down the precise issue before investing in parts that may or may not be the root cause.

I have a G E Spectra gas stove and oven the gas oven doesn't work

does it not bake or broil? if this is the case, it could be the control panel. however if one or the other of the bake and broil functions work then it would most likely be an ignitor. check to see if your broil and bake ignitors glow. to access the bake ignitor you must remove the bottom panel from the oven but you can probaly see it gowing without removing the panel. the broil ignitor should be in plain sight.

My bake burner on my Maytag gas oven is weak, takes forever to pre-heat/cook. Flames are there but low.

Probably need to replace the igniter. Swap the broil and bake igniters and see if the problem follows the igniter. I just had this happen to mine. Glow bar/igniter appeared to be working properly but was weak causing the regulator valve circuit to keep the flames very low. Swapped ingiters as instructed and problem went with the bad igniter to the broil/top burner.

Oven won't broil

You probably have a bad broil ignitor. When you turn the oven onb to broil the ignitor on the top of the oven should glow bright orange. If it doesn't glow or glows a dull orange, it is probably bad.

Oven not working

Check continuity on gas valve. the middle connector is common, upper is broil and bottom is bake. Resistance between common and bake should be about the same as between common and broil. I believe you'll need to set the ohmmeter to KOhms (or x1000.

If no continuity between any of the connectors - replace gas valve (not much fun, and part is expensive).
