Re: adobe audition 1.5

Hi alice,
Adobe audition 1.5 and the latest 2.0 is a master for recording and editing sound. Most top studio's use this program including such as BBC and so on. You can even download from internet and edit the sound to your requirement. You can also insert your own music in music to make it some what different to the original music. So can do lots of things with it. It is one of the best around. You can access HELP file,
Open the adobe auition 1.5, scrol along the manu till you come to the HELP manu, Click on it and click on Contents and you will have whole lot of help manus to chose from. It is very easy to use, not very hard. I hope this helps.

I have installed adobe audition on my computer. it won't do anything but record white noise.

You don't give enough details for your system. I guess that your soundcard in not properly selected at the Audition - Options - Device properties and device order. Here is a look of an Audition set up for an on-board Realtec audio card.

I am using Adobe audition 1.5 for recording my songs.. now.. i am facing big problem while using that software.. there is multitrack option available in that software. we have put karaoke track in one...

Welcome to FixYa!

I assume that you know your way around adobe audition 1.5 because I'm currently using adobe audition 3 on windows 7. The menus are different, but I'm going to give a few points that might help.

Windows Sound/Volume:
Make sure that the sound card you are using is selected, specially if you are using an additional external USB sound card (which is much better). Disable other sound cards, if any.

Adobe Audition:
One of the pull down menus located on the upper part, it has an option that says "Device Properties" or anything like that. This is where you set the input signal will be coming from and likewise the output signal.

The input signal should be the input of the sound card you selected in windows. Same goes for the output signal.

On multi-track view, check the track to be recorded. Make sure that the input is from the input of the sound card and not from anything else. The button for the setting is somewhere near the Solo/Mute/Record buttons.

If this will be set correctly, you will be able to play the song on the 1st track and record ONLY your voice on the 2nd track.

Keep me posted.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I am not a seasoned pro with Audition, but I have a basic working knowledge of it and do a good bit of recording at home. I recently purchased a Yamaha mixing console (MG166CX-USB) and I am unsure how to...

If you're wanting to use the Yamaha ASIO driver direct via USB, first make sure you have the driver installed.  Second, you have to enable the ASIO driver in the audio devices setup portion - or you can just go to your Windows Audio settings, and change the recording hardware to the Yamaha one.
Then you'll be able to record to 1 Stereo or 2 Mono channels off of the Yamaha ASIO driver.
It's more tricky doing it that way than just feeding the line-outs into your onboard or PCI/PCI-eX sound cards.
Poast back if you have more questions.  I'm at work now, but I can look at the specifics when I get home if you need further assistance.
If you need further help, be sure to post this info: 1. What version of Audition 2. What version of Windows 3. What type of soundcard do you have (if you want to do anything through that route).

I cant record nor play while in Multitrack View, i can only play while in edit view ...? This is for adobe audition 1.5 ? Anyone know whats going on ???

Need more detail: 1. What sound card are you using?  - You need to make sure the correct hardware is selected as your record and playback types.  For instance, if you have more than one sound card, you could have easily the default one setup, but you really need your recording one - such as an ASIO driver - such as for external USB mixers.
2. What version of Windows?
My best guess is the hardware setup is off.  You have to have the correct hardware setup for Audition to see it.  Wave view and Multitrack view have diferent settings, each, so you have to set them up separately.

While recording through firewire solo cannot hear input but hear

  1. What version of Audition?
  2. What version of Windows - or other OS?
  3. Edit View and/or Multi-Track view issue?
  4. Are you recording in Multitrack view, then listening in Edit view?  Each has its own hardware setup..
My best guess is that one of these thigns are true:
  1. You have not enabled monitoring
  2. In multitrack view, I believe you have to send each signal to the master, and then enable monitoring for the Master... but I can't remember for sure.

Not able to record onto Adobe Audition 1.5

Sounds like you do not have your audio recording source set correctly.  If you're recording from a file on your computer or a CD via the CD-Rom drive of your computer, you need to probably set the recording to either "Wave" or "What you hear", one of the two.  The "What you hear" can be easiest, but then again, if any other sound comes accross your computer at the same time, you'll end up recording that as well, so it's best to stick to "wave" if you can... or make sure all Windows sounds are turned off (Audio settings ->Sounds ->Select "No Sounds" as the theme).

Hi there,
It seems your adobe audition 1.5 is missing file / files or adobe's registry has gone corrupt. If you ever run registry cleaners or registry fix some of them corrupt the registry of this adobe audition 1.5 try Reinstalling the Program and it should work. This Program is very Reliable and shoud have no problems with it. I use it all the time to download from internet and then edit to my requirement. I hope this helps. If you still have problems try to down load trial software from Adobe audition 2.0 is free for download to try.

Good Luck
