You would see at least 5 screws 2 at least at the side and 3 at the back. remove all the screws then lift the top cover. upon lifting it, you would see the top assembly of the pick-up lens. their is a piece of plastic that holds the cd and on its sides there two screws that might be covered by a double add tape, remove it and you would see the screws.

Vhs tape is stuck and message reads "tape

Unplug the TV/VCR/DVD Combo from the main power for a couple of minutes, the unit may eject the tape at the power ON.
You can also try openening the unit, reset the loading posts and eject the tape by manually turning gears, motors etc..You have to know what you're doing otherwise, you will do more damage or get injured and don't forget HIGH VOLTAGE CAN KILL.

DVD will not Eject

answer - had the same issue turned out to be 3 dvds in it, Remove the 4 screws holding the dvd player to the roof. wire harness will hold it up. There is an fm transmitter on top held on by three screws. remove the little screws and push the transmitter to the side. you winn now see the stuck dvds. push the extras out with a small screw driver. once they are out the eject button will eject the last dvd.
just worked for me hope this helps.

Stuck dvd

I don't know the unit your talking about but I DO know that 1.) sometimes the DVD was put in crooked and get's jammed. Push the eject **** and push IN on the DVD door... it might staighten things out.

Don't put a screwdriver in there and try to wedge it out.... you could do a lot of damage.

Last thought - and ONLY if your comfortable doing this - is take the top off (usually two screews on each side, and take a look. You may see something. But DON'T DO THIS if tinkering is foreign to you. You might get a shock.

If this is an old DVD player, junk it or make an attemt, and if the attemt fails junk it. Let me know how you make out.

DVD caught inside machine

When a DVD won't eject, the most common problem is that the belt that operates the eject mechanism is slipping and not allowing it to eject the DVD. This can be fixed by either using a re-grip solution on the belt or having the belt replaced. With the cover off (be careful not to touch anything live with power) try to find the motor and belt which operates the DVD loading & eject mechanism. Try moving the belt pulley with your finger to give it a little help and see if it continues on with the operation. If it does, the belt is probably slipping. It takes more effort on the belt & pulley during an eject sequence rather than the a load sequence, so it may load fine but have trouble ejecting. Gravity and the weight of the DVD is why you may not have this problem during a load sequence.
Let me know what you find and we'll go from there.

Good luck,
- Jim

DVD will NOT eject!

Looks like it will have to come apart. Can you see how? Usually the top/side casing is simply 5/6 screws 2 each side and 1/2 at the back then slide back away from the from panel. Technical help at Philips may be helpful.

DVD stuck in drive

try ejecting through my computer then right clicking on the drive and select eject or there should be a little pin hole at the front of the drive to push and force a manual ejection

Disc Eject won't work after improperly inserting disc and since removing it.

I have an DZ-MV780 with the same problem. I found that the cover plate around the flash hot shoe only has a single screw. If you remove it and pull up the cover you gain access to the gear and lock mechanism. Hit eject and if necessary press on the white gears you see in front of the zoom switch. It should then cause the door mechanism to unlock and open.
