Question about Avanti FF1101W Top Freezer Refrigerator

AvantiFF1101W Refrigerator not cooling

The freezer is still working, but not at the usual high capacity as before. How much will a new motor cost me [if that indeed is the problem]? And by the way, A PC Richards salesman told me that Avanti has been taken over by Summit and tried to sell me one of that brand's energy saver models. What's the deal with that?

Generally when refrigerators don't cool enough it is usually down to blocked cooling grills found at the rear or the underside of fridge, if you clean the dust off these grills you may find it works ok, hope this helps.

SOURCE: Refrigerator model 309YBT quit working on Friday

Good day,
You did not say if it was running or not.
If not running at all, then it may be the cold control, (thermostat) that has failed. You can remove it, jump the 2 wires going to it, and see if it runs and cools.
If so, you may be able to contact your local appliance parts house for a replacement.
However, if running and not cooling, then 2 options.
1. If under 5 years, sealed system should be under warrant. Call your selling dealer for details.'
2. If over 5 years, not price effective.

Samsung RB31F Fridge/Freezer - fridge temperature too high, freezer OK

1-The condenser coils are usually located under the refrigerator. They dissipate heat as refrigerant passes through them. If the condenser coils are dirty, they won't dissipate the heat effectively. As debris builds up on the coils, the refrigerator becomes less efficient, causing the refrigerator to work harder to cool down. If the coils are significantly dirty, the refrigerator will not be able to maintain the proper temperature. Check the condenser coils to determine if they are dirty-if the condenser coils are dirty, clean them.
2-The evaporator fan motor draws air over the evaporator (cooling) coils and circulates it throughout the refrigerator and freezer compartments. Some refrigerators have more than one evaporator fan motor. On refrigerators with only one evaporator, the evaporator is located in the freezer compartment. If the evaporator fan is not working, it will not circulate the cold air to the refrigerator compartment. If this occurs, the freezer may still get cold, while the refrigerator will not get cold. To determine if the evaporator fan motor is defective, try turning the fan blade by hand. If the fan blade does not turn freely, replace the fan motor. Additionally, if the motor is unusually noisy, replace it. Finally, if the motor does not run at all, use a multimeter to test the motor windings for continuity. If the windings do not have continuity, replace the evaporator fan motor.

1998 GT22DKXGN00 refrigerator freezes, where is thermostat in refrigerator ? This is a Whirlpool

Check refrigerator and freezer temperature. If the freezer is above 0 degrees Fahrenheit it is likely the cooling capacity of the unit has reduced due to low charge or weak compressor. What usually happens is that the freezer is not able to reach the proper temperature and the unit runs continuously. The result is that the refrigerator via the freezer-refrigerator air flow connection freezes.

"This is not intuitive", but the logic is that from the compressor running continuously the freezing air that flows into the refrigerator side results in that the refrigerator will freeze,.

Check the temperatures. If the freezer is above 10 degrees F it is almost certianty the cooling capacity has been reduced.

If equipped with an ice maker the output of the ice-maker will also reduce with this problem

It is possible to have the compressor replaced but not usually cost effective.

Back of freezer has frost and freezer wont cool to proper temp. icemaker etc also not working

Did you leave the freezer door open for a period of time while the refrigerator was running? Unplug and defrost the freezer manually with a hair dryer until all frost is removed inside and in back of the freezer. Reapply power and see if it will then cool/freeze properly. Let me know the results

Check to be sure you can get a replacement fan first, they last about 4 - 5 years. Can get from a parts supplier or electric motor company.
Unplug fridge. Located usually in top of freezer behind a vented cover plate. Remove cover, remove screws holding fan in, may have to cut wires. Replace with new motor, make sure the fan pushes air into the freezer area and doesn't spin backward drawing air from the freezer area.

Kenmore 22' bottom freezer model 596.77275790 isnt cooling in the fridge and the freezer seems to be working but there is alot of frost on the back of the freezer,I turned the fridge as high as it would go...

Sounds like the freezer/refrigerator ciculating fan is wearing out, this fan supplies the circulation for the freezer as well as the refrigerator. When is starts to wear out the rpms are reduced to a point that it will keep the freezer cold but not the refrigerator. The minimum cost to replace this fan is around $300.00

Freezer comparment will freeze OK, but fridge does not get cold.

If the freezer is working properly, and the fridge is not, it is usually the evaporator fan. It should be located behind the back panel in the freezer. Usually, a fan blade is stuck, or the motor is stuck on it's bearing. You may need to reposition the fan or apply some oil to the bearing. If you cannot get the fan to spin, you might need a new fan motor. Check the voltage first before buying a new motor. You should get around 110V AC .
