If you open the windows the gas will not hurt you. Freon mixed with the air you breath is not deadly, but freon is deadly alone. The fact is if you had not the sufficient air surrounding you during the puncture you would not had posted this conversation. But the problem is going to be the repair. I looked up the model above your post and I am trying to understand why you would need to manually defrost the model EL7ATRRMQ00 Was there a problem with auto defrost or your model came only as the manual defrost type?
I will answer your question now. You will be fine! Just be careful. Don't listen to the stories people tell you. I am 53 years old and have worked around these different gases for most of my life. Other than being a little shaky at times because the coffee was to strong, you will be fine too! Thanks, Sea Breeze

I am not sure of the model # but our Whirlpool refridgerator / freezer always pools water under the crisper. The drip pan is always dry. We have taken wire and fed it up the drain hose the runs up but inside the back panel. That didn't work and we are thinking it is blocked somewhere.
My question is the back panel is creased on to the sides and can't see how we can get the panel off it inspect the pipe. We also can't see and entry from inside. Our fridge is approx 5 years old. Soory could'nt find the model #. Any suggestions as to how to get the back off to clear the drip pipe.
Thank you

I have an all fridge model with water accumulating under the vegetable/crisper bins. Like other I have read about here, I have to sop up the water at least twice a day. I have had this refrigerator for less than a year. The problem started just this summer. I have already tried adjusting the temperature. Please help me :(
