Re: Blurred, uneven printing
I would first try going to printer troubleshooting screen on your PC by clicking the "START bar" then select "Control Panel" next select the printer icon and then select the "Troubleshooting Printer" this will guide you through all the steps to aligning your print heads and cleaning the print cartridges. If that doen't solve the problem for you, I would then go to the internet and type in www..canon.com/printers then enter the model of printer you have. If you find any of these suggestions helpful, please rate my solution. Thanks D. Lange

Hi, one or two head cleans won't clear a badly clogged nozzle. Try doing 4 or 5 head cleans, wait about 10 hours for the ink to soften and do another 3 or 4 cleans with a nozzle check after each. You should see a gradual improvement in the nozzle checks. If there is no improvement then you need a head cleaning solution such as this one: http://www.powerklin.co.uk/?gclid=CNGDypir-JgCFQ4yQgodZlC4lw
Others are available just try googling "inkjet head cleaning". Note that head cleaning uses between 5 and ten percent of your ink cart's, if any are low on ink have some new ones ready. Hope this helps. Please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.
Seemes very daft, and sounds like a twit, but not really.
When I recieved the new cartridge I placed it in the correct cartridge retainer in the printer matching up the dark green colour of the cartridge and the top clip, and it printed nothing even after a tryed re-seating it.
So I placed it in the other thinking maybe I somehow might have placed it in the wrong slot, so I placed it in the other (Colour), and set that up as I did the other, and it printed a blurred page but then stopped printing.
After that I then placed it back in the other cartridge retainer, set it up as the previous times when it did not work, and then it worked.
Seems strange and simple, but it did not work the first time at all, and after faffing with it finally did.
This might help someone, and then again might not.
It would appear as though the ink cartridges were not securely in place. Upon making them secure my test page printed perfectly thereafter.
All four requirements were carried out i.e. clean/deep clean/print head alignment/nozzle check
print heads are built into the ink cartridges on HP's.
I currently have this problem with another hp model. I appears that the firmware is stuck in what is called 'econo mode' and won't come out of it.
sorry not more help.
Although you may not use the other colours the cleaning assembly cleans all the cartridges hence the other ink gets used.
To trick the machine into thinking there is ink in the cartridge, place some black tape over the top of each cartridge facing front of the machine. This fools the sensor into seeing no reflected light and reads that there is ink in the cartridges you do not use.
Pleas enote that if you do this on a long term basis it is liley the head will dry out and may damage the head - use this advise to get urgent prints out.
Have you tried a new cartridge yet? I know it doesn't make sense at first but I suspect the cartridge has a problem and your test print isn't exercising the printer like the Word doc is.
If the new cartridge works than the problem is probably poor quality ink, the hole you used to refill isn't sealed correctly or the cartridge or jets were damaged in some way.
