Problem for LG RC897T DVD Recorder / VCR Combo
Hello! I have a RC79T and I cannot record one of
hello! I have a RC79T and I cannot record one of my cable channels. It is the national grograhic channel. everytime I try to record it get a pop up and says that this is copy right program, cannot be recorded. How is this? How can I not record off of cable? this is the only channel I have this problem with

I have the same problem with FX. I e-mailed LG customer service and recieved this response,
We’ll be glad to assist you with this situation. A firmware upgrade will be required in order to correct the problem that you are experiencing.
Please reply this email with the following information:
Model number
Serial Number
Date of Purchase: 09/13/09
Firmware/Software version of the unit
Physicall address to send you the firmware upgrade
To get the Firmware/Software version of the unit try the following steps:
1.Select TV Aspect from the Setup Menu.
2.Highlight the 16:9 Option
3.Type in the code 1397139.
4.The System Information Screen will appear.
From this screen ask the customer to read
the current Firmware/Software version of the
unit.
Once we have all the product information we will be sending you a firmware upgrade, that will solve the issue that your unit has. I replied to the E-mail and now awaiting the arrivial of a disc with the firmware upgrade. Hope this gives you a starting please.
