has a fried (melted) external three terminal relay in capacitor circuit. Never seen this before. Can't tell what the relay was, so need wiring diagram.

- Thanks Charlie, I figured out how the relay was wired internally. The motor had no centrifical starter switch so used an external relay instead.

I have a Jet AFS-1000B ceiling mounted Air Cleaner that has not logged many hours. In fact, the original air filters are still clean. The problem is that it shuts down after running a short time. When the filters are installed the time is much shorter. It seems that the motor might be overheating. It can be restarted after a short time but the time running is seldom longer than 30-45 seconds. The unit is over 10 years old so the warranty expired long ago. Bill
